Management Officially unveils Galaxy Sports Academy in Makurdi.

Galaxy Sports Development worldwide today in Makurdi Benue State as an umbrella sports organization launched Galaxy Sports Academy in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria.

The occasion that was crowd-controlled because of the Covid-19 stay at home instructions issued by the NFF last week was a huge success.

Among the many personalities that graced the occasion were Hon Terwase Aondokaa, Hon Kris Atsaka, Hon George Okoh, Douglas Akya, Barnabas Imenger, Derek Kakaan, Rogers Calvin Adaaku, Kennedy Iornem and many others.

“Benue, as a team, we can revive football in the State by supporting such grassroots youth football projects to stand” is what the Vice Chairman of Galaxy Sports Academy Hon Terwase Aondokaa elaborated on. The Benue State house of assembly member representing Makurdi South constituency also made mention of how Lobi Stars has failed the Benue youth since there are just 30% of Benue indigenes currently playing for the state ran football team.

The Executive Chairman of Galaxy Sports Academy Austin Akpehe, said there is the need to encourage football experts all over the globe to come into Benue State since there is enormous talent here.

Galaxy Sports Development has had successes by exposing young football players through its partnerships with Dreamfoot football academy and JM Liberty Academy all indigenous academies from Benue State. Currently, 4 young football players are abroad through this great partnership deals.

Mr Igba Jija, a young football philanthropist also encouraged all football bodies in Benue State to consider football as a network business and work alongside such football experts so as to expose their players to viable clubs abroad.

Mr Mac Imenger who is the Chairman of Dreamfoot Academy encouraged all football lovers to make sure they are a part of the project Galaxy Sports Academy. He emphasized on how his players especially, the likes of Godfrey Utim and George Tachia Gbe, are currently benefiting from similar projects staged by Galaxy Sports Academy Abuja. 

The event was highlighted by witnessing the first official signing of a young football player Julius Ochima, a young boy discovered by the academy from a scouting event in Otukpo local government area in Benue State. Galaxy Sports Development added two agents and representatives to its fold in the person’s of Patrick Ojobo and Bob Onyilo to their scouting team from Otukpo. Otukpo seems to stand a big chance of benefitting from the projects been discussed so far.

The current Team Manager of Lobi Stars also lamented on the need to return to grassroots youth football projects since that is what lead players like him and many more to be a part of the Nigeria national teams.

There is still hope for the situation facing Benue State in football. Currently, no single player of Benue State origin is with any of the national teams of Nigeria.
